They say the greatest form of flattery is imitation. However, when it comes to Cuban cigars, you want to know that you are smoking the real deal and not a counterfeit offering. SoloCigars.com makes it easy for you to determine the authenticity. Not only will we provide you with a certificate of origin on request, we also display images of the cigars in their packaging – and then we describe the packaging!
Why does SoloCigars.com do this? The answer is that the way to spot a counterfeit cigar is to look at the packaging. Not only should the cigars be packed in boxes marked with the Habanos seal in the upper right-hand corner on top of the box, the box should also have a Cuban warranty seal (made in Cuba stamp) on the left.
Furthermore, all cigars made and packaged by Habanos SA (the worldwide exporter of Cuban cigars) post March 2010, should have the new version of the seal: a hologram on the far right side and a bar code on the left. The label also has a watermark and is affixed with a strong adhesive. This means that it cannot be removed easily, nor can it be duplicated easily.
You can also determine authenticity by looking at the bottom of the box. The words Habanos SA, Hecho En Cuba will be there and, if the cigars are handmade, the words Totalmente a Mano. There will also be a barcode for the factory in which the cigars were made, and a date stamp showing when the cigars were packaged.
Knowing all this will enable you to determine if the premium cigars that your ordered and we shipped to you, were not intercepted on the way and replaced by fake ones.
