Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2 View Product

Hoyo de Monterrey was founded by a Spanish immigrant to Cuba named Don Jose Gener y Batet. Around 1851, he opened his own cigar factory in Havana and created his own cigar line, which he named ‘La Escepcion.’ Then in 1865, he used the profits to buy a tobacco farm in the Vuelta Abajo region in Cuba. He then registered a new cigar line and named it ‘Hoyo De Monterrey.’

One of the brand’s most popular cigars to date is the ‘Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure No.2 SLB.’ It is known for starting out with strong earth flavors of tobacco with generous plumes of smoke. Through the second third, you start to taste a sweetness like caramelized sugar. The Epicure leaves such mellow yet complex flavors that it is often considered one of the best Robustos ever created.

Hoyo de Monterrey has always been on the cutting edge of cigar making. They were the first marca to introduce the Petit Corona format in 2005 with the chunky 50 ring gauge and shorter length to appeal to the tastes of modern cigar enthusiasts for thicker formats.

Hoyo De Monterrey cigars have smooth and creamy flavors that should be savored on special occasions.
